Josie Abbenante, ATR-BC, LPAT

Josie Abbenante, ATR-BC, LPAT, has taught and practiced art therapy for over 30 years. She added the practice of sandplay to her work 16 years ago. Josie directed art therapy programs at the University of New Mexico and Seton Hill College. She has taught at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Naropa University, Vermont College, and Mount Mary College. In recent years, she was the coordinator and taught in the summer graduate creative arts therapy program at Pratt Institute. Josie has presented nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including: archetypal art therapy, sandplay and art therapy, art therapy and Deaf culture, and the language of aesthetics and metaphor.
