Touch Drawing: Self-care for Clinicians & their Clients

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

ROOM 801

Touch Drawing, developed by artist Deborah Koff-Chapin, is a simple yet profound way of creating images. Paper is placed over wet paint, and the pressure of fingertips on the page forms images on the underside. The speed and directness of this process allows for many drawings be to made in a single session. Moreover, these drawings become a record of inner transformation. In this 3-hour workshop, participants will be guided into a deep interior space in which they will create a full series of drawings. Movement, vocalization, and writing will be interwoven to enhance the drawing process and allow for reflection on the images created. Group discussion will focus on using Touch Drawing as a self-care method for practitioners, and as a way to effectively transition between clients during practice. No artistic skill is needed to experience the transformational power of this process.

Please Note: This workshop is offered as a complement to the afternoon Touch Drawing workshop. Register for either one or both.

Eligible for 3.0 Credits: ATCB, NBCC; ASWB, APA, MFT, Nursing
