Incorporating Play Therapy Techniques into Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

ROOM 705

Play is a child’s natural language. And perhaps unlike the adult’s, it can be a means of pure and uninhibited expression of horrific thoughts and images. Trauma work with children thus requires an element of play. This workshop will examine the blending of play-based techniques into a manualized approach to treatment. Through didactic presentation and experiential demonstrations, participants will get an overview of how to incorporate play-based techniques into the evidence-based treatment approach of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy frequently used with younger children.

Eligible for 3.0 Credits: ATCB, NBCC; ASWB, APA, MFT, Nursing; SWNYS

This session also eligible for APT credits
